Maybe. There has been an apparent huge acceleration in restoration of cars, especially very poor quality cars which would have just gone to parts in previous years. Now, that's really difficult to quantify vs the
normal attrition rate of the cars (which appears to be pretty typical), so might not mean that much in the end.
The other factor here is that sooner or later, someone is gonna figure out how to make "new" (old) cars, via whatever means from a mix of spares/new parts etc. Now, likely the numbers involved
here will be small, and may make that much difference, and certainly the price on such a car will be significantly more than a typical 40+ year old car now, so you could even make
the argument that this would put prices up even higher.
YMMV.

That's fair. To the average consumer the different between original and reproduction might not even matter much, or they may even prefer the reproduction, given the original wasn't all that great (performance-wise) to begin with.
Kit cars will also always have an appeal too.
However just like everything, the valuation for something is only dependent on who you're selling it to. Some collectors might only want the original 1980s-era stock and that stock is finite and going down, was my point. Unless you have a real time machine.

Here are the updated quarterly valuations from Hagerty. Click thumbnail.
Graph shows 5yr history with appreciation % over that period.
This quarter the only category that didn't move was Cond. 1 (Concours) cars.
The other 3 conditions moved up 8-10% in just this quarter after flatlining the 3 previous quarters.

In my shop this past weekend would have done it.
...I've calmed down since but I'm still annoyed that this season's wake up routine included a new exhaust leak.

Well someone got an awesome deal. Hope the seller isn't under water with this one. $42,226 boy what a deal!
I hope this isn't a trend!

This is the latest valuaction guide and general overview of founding of Delorean Motor Cars by John Z. Delorean. Seems likely and valuations are about what
Bring a Trailer has been selling them for. https://www.hagerty.com/media/market...339d24432720d0
