Hi all,
New owner here in Alameda CA. Just purchased a 1981 5900 mile DMC12 (black) last week. Awaiting delivery. Apart from paint and a minor refurbishment to repair the accumulated insults of sitting in a museum for 30 years the vehicle is stock and I intend to turn it into a reliable weekend driver. Attached the list of updates I'm considering. The labor will be all mine....of course I'll drive the car a little first, but mostly locally until I'm confident it will be reliable. Signing up for AAA Premier this morning.
Work already done:
- All fluids flushed
- New fuel pump, injectors, rest of fuel system flushed
- Basic service w/new water pump
- New brake calipers all round
- AC system gassed and running
A little history on me- I grew up in Ireland, and have known about DeLoreans since they launched in 1981. I've wanted one since then. BTTF didn't help the cause. I've spent the last 18 months completely overhauling a 1974 Rockwell 112A so my wife is ready for me to take on a project that doesn't involve 30 hours a week at Oakland airport.
Any other owners around Alameda?
