Remote Battery Cutoff

8.5 ma load is not to bad but still why would you want a remote to shut off the battery.

I prefer the key fob to disconnecting the battery lead.

The 8.5 mA is when the battery has been disconnected. The battery relay is not a latching relay, so the parasitic load is quite a bit higher when the car has been turned off but the remote cutoff has not.
