Have you rebuilt engines in the past?
I rebuilt a Suzuki Samurai engine in a 12'x12' shed years ago. Have rebuilt several motorcycle engines. My dad is a mechanic so I grew up around it.
It's a challenge since it is not something I do on a regular basis but I feel it is something we can handle if we do our homework and take time.

I managed to find a company in my state that does dry ice blasting. They told me $375. Pretty expensive for something that will probably take them less than an hour but I think we are going to do it. I want this block to look like new.

I have a local exotic car dealer I know well and has dry ice cleaning services and I use them for my collection. It's not a quick job. Most undercarriages are 8-10 hours - all dependent on the vehicle and tips used. I am planning to have my DeLorean blasted most likely next year.

Latest update. We have found a reputable Delorean shop to sell us heads that are ported, polished, decked, valves ground, cams reground, etc. So we are going to have a stage 2 car. Yeh!!!

Pulled this off the internet. I am really hoping that it is true.
"The Stage II modifications boost the output from 130 bhp to a claimed 215 bhp, taking the 0 ? 60 mph time from 10.5 seconds to 7 seconds"

Ok, I found the page you were referring to claiming 215 hp. I did some more searching and found this thread.
https://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?1...ne-differences
In it they claim much less improvement. Its not completely clear what it is claiming. Most guys are saying around 197 hp., but in one post it says that the stock engine gives 100 hp to the wheels. (Which might be true) Then he goes on to say the stage II puts 130 hp to the wheels. I know there are differences in BHP vs HP at the wheels, but I dont know why the stock engine loses 30 hp and this claimed 197 loses 67 hp.
I suspect that these numbers are estimated at best and should be viewed with extreme caution.
On the other hand, a number of guys got the Stage II and appear to be happy, so it must do something. I feel sure that I gained hp by bolting on the Delorean industry exhaust, but I would not claim a specific amount and certainly not more than 10 percent.
