Brake and driving lights Red in color and illuminate -- Passed
Turn signals Yellow in color and illuminate-- Passed
Reverse lights white (clear) and illuminate -- Passed
No lenses cracked -- Passed
Those are the only things that an inspection station and/or a police office is going to look for, they are not looking for DOT imprints on the lenses.

Turn signals are not required to be yellow.

Amber/yellow is acceptable practically anywhere in the world. Red has been banned since the 1980s or earlier in regions outside of North America. In the USA, it is still acceptable to have red turn signals on the rear.

Learned something new. Probably good idea. Wonder why the US didn’t do it.

Unfortunately that is not the case in some states. Apparently, too many “off road use only” items are being used as replacement parts and some garages are looking for DOT markings. I recently failed an inspection for having Toby’s third brake light on my car.

That’s interesting. Since the car didn’t come with the third light, you wouldn’t think they could turn you down for that. I hate state inspections. I’m so glad my state dropped them. I read that statistics prove that it’s no safer in states with inspections vs no inspections. It’s just another way to take money.

I’ve lived in states that did not require inspections. I saw a lot of turds that shouldn’t be on the road. As annoying as the inspection is, for many people it’s the only motivation they have to keep their car in any kind of safe, properly working order.
