    Legend twin turbo

If anyone has Hagerty, the most recent issue of Hagerty Drivers Club has a pretty extensive story of Legend Industries and the Delorean. It's 8 pages with some great pictures also. It's an interesting story, with info about an all wheel drive Delorean, design by Zora Duntov.

Article: Is this the car that could have saved DeLorean?

    Thanks for asking, Tamir. Done.

The May/June, 2022 issue of Hagerty Drivers Club arrived here today. I scanned the Legend-DMC piece. It's great.

Check out this pdf of the 8 page article

The Table of Contents lists the article this way:

    DeLorean's Twin Turbo Dalliance
    by Chris Theodore

If ever a fast-looking slow car deserved more oomph, it was the DeLorean DMC-12. One young engineer from Detroit thought he had the answer.

Note that the color illustration is the first page of the pdf.
The second page carries the title and the beginning of the article.

Hats off to author, Chris Theodore. And to Legend VP Fred Dellis.

Hey Rich, looks like a link to your personal dropbox, not a shared link. When I click on it, it just takes me to my dropbox. Could you try 'Copy Link' to grab a shareable link to the file itself? Thanks

It's always interesting to get another insider's point of view. Most have a very small view of the whole enterprise but put them all together and you get the "big picture". One big thing left out was the input shaft problem with the transmission and all of the time and engineering that went into that. Chris Theodore's main involvement was with the motor and turbos so he may not have had much to do with the transmission. Fred Dellis has been a guest speaker for Delorean Mid-Atlantic several times and has shared much of this with the club already. Back in 1981 not only was fuel injection considered "black magic" (not many cars had it and few mechanics knew how it worked or how to service it) turbos were considered aviation kind of stuff or for race cars and were rather exotic. Now they have become commonplace. If Deloreans had continued to be produced and had TURBOS it would have made the Delorean even more of an exotic and may have made enough of a difference in sales to have kept the company going though the recession. Timing in business is everything and it all fell apart.
