    Cylinder deposit

    Hi all

I was checking my cylinders with a camera and noticed this odd deposit in one cylinder. Any idea what it might be?

Hopefully not from coolant leaking into the cylinder, however it does look to be coming from the head gasket.

you should pressurize the cooling system and look at that spot when pressurized. You might see it if coolant is pressing in.

I’ve done that and it’s holding 15 psi for 5 hours. The issue is when warm I’m getting heaps of bubbles in the expansion tank. I think I’ve got a really small leak that is opening when hot.

Yes and it passed. I’ve spoken to a few experts and they are wondering if my water pump is introducing air

I have checked everyones delorean that I know, they all churn up bubbles in the expansion tank when you rev the engine.

yes, durring reving. Especially with a coolant bottle such as that. Your return is right at the water line, so its going to create a Venturi effect and churn up water and air. The original coolant bottles return at the top, as do many stainless ones, they will also make bubbles, but way less. Now as for how long the bubbles are hanging around (like bubbles in soapy water), perhaps you have some sort of surfactant mixed into your coolant.
