    Talking 95Mph Speedometer ...

    Hi,

I scanned & re-printed the Delorean speedometer to show 95Mph instead of 85Mph ... and finally reach 88Mph

You can download the files here and print them yourselves:

Make sure to get a UV resistant vinyl.

    Here's a rough version of the 3D scan :

That?s cool, but why stop at 95? I?m not sure what the top speed is, but I?ve had mine over a hundred several times. I would guess 120 should cover it.

    Wow, that's awesome!

How (where) were you able to do that, at a race track or something? How did you measure the top speed, radar? ...or a GPS perhaps? Any chance you've got a video, or a pic of the buried speedometer?

I get my D to higher speeds often (S.FL). The only reason not 90+mph is the automatic transmission. I don't like keeping the engine at ~4000+RPM for extended time periods.

I have a 140 speedo and can attest for 128mph while running with some friends up in Michigan. I haven't gone faster (yet) but it felt like I could push it more. Engine is stock.

Cool. Any others? DeLoreans that assert/attest 100+ MPH. ??

This almost seems like a joke or trolling to me. Most modern cars can go over a hundred. If they have enough power to reasonably excellerate in traffic, they have enough power to go over a hundred. Certainly, if one particular stock car can do it, all of them probably can.

The only thing mentioned was about the auto trans not being able to do it. Is this true? Hard to believe it would make that much difference.

Definitely not intending to troll, but I understand. Question withdrawn, ok with me if admins lock the thread.
