The motors are not matched to the VIN. There are no records (except maybe for early cars) to tie the two together. DMCH may have those records. They did have the frame #'s to VINS a long time ago on a box of 3 X 5 index cards for early cars.

DMC Texas run the DeLorean museum. If you supply them with your VIN they can sell you a reproduction window sticker which will
show the engine number the car originally had. Also it tells you what dealer sold the car originally. They supplied me with a certificate which even
had the original owners name and address on it!

Do not expect any DeLorean to have matching numbers between the powertrain, frame, and body.
