For Sale. 1981 Delorean $68,000
Vin: SCEDT26T5BD001992. Current indicated mileage 11720.
We purchased this car 27 march 2019 from an individual in Phoenix Az. Previous to that it was titled in Florida. We trailered the car to the Delorean Motor Company Houston Tx. (As it was not running) where it received a bunch of repairs and upgrades. The following is a list of all the major items.
Rebuilt engine as a ?STAGE II? with a new short block
Complete hose kit with radiator
Radiator cowling fan, motor and cowling
Tail light circuit boards with LED bulb. Front signal LEDS as well
Relay update kit
Replaced transmission mounts
New steering rack. Aligned front end
Angle drive, lower cable and dust shield kit
Trailing arm bolt kit and bushings
Replaced brake master cylinder
Complete car caliper kit. All 4 calipers rebuilt
New door lock set
New exterior door handles
New power coated rock screen
LED door light kit
Transmission return and delivery hoses
New (aftermarket DMCH) dash pad
Rear view mirror
4 new shock absorbers
Window and hazard switches (LED Illuminated)
Thermotime switch
Automatic transmission shift cable
New A/C accumulator, condenser, evaporator kit, orifice tube, evaporator
The following parts and services were provided by other vendors.
Both front and rear fascias repainted
4 new tires General Altimax 195/60 R 14 and 225/60 R 15
All 4 wheels powder coated in dark gray.
The interior has a new headliner with the upgraded fiberglass panels from DMCH
It also has new leather seats, new carpet, DMCH dash pad, rear view mirror, both upper door panels were reupholstered by a local shop, new sun visors, outer door seals replaced.
Radnor Automotive installed the new transmission shift cable, 4 new drive axle boots. Removed and reinstalled both door fixed glass (were loose), aligned hood and doors.
The stainless steel panels are in very good condition. The engine cover is in good condition. The sunshade is also in good condition and has been repainted.
The single biggest negative with the car is the driver door is out of adjustment.
While the upper door panels were removed I decided to check the door locks, interior and exterior handles and the door. I thought I could make it a little better. I DID NOT!
Someone (not me) with a good working knowledge of the Delorean door will need to adjust the door, door lock and power window. The passenger side seems ok. I didn?t monkey around with it.
I have receipts for the work that was done and the parts used.
The car has a clear title and I?ll do my best to answer any questions you may have.
I?ll be posting this on the Tennessee and Kentucky Facebook groups pages first, I figure keep it local.
Flux Capacitor not included.
