Yeah, when I say it's off by 3-4mph higher and I'll adjust it someday, I'm talking about the speedometer needle position on the shaft itself - I'm not tweaking the spring or magnet, just where the needle sits on the shaft. It's pretty consistently 3-4mph over from what I can tell, so I think in this case it's largely the alignment on the shaft - off by a few degrees when I put it back on. I'm sure it's not even as accurate as it used to be (parts degrade as others have noted), but I would still like it to 'read' closer to correct around 35mph. But adjusting it also runs the risk of breaking some piece of it and having to spend a bunch to get it fixed - as the saying goes "It it ain't broke..."
