Coolant Corrosion in Block

Have have two PRV blocks, both of which were left with coolant standing in them for an unknown amount of time. The coolant has eaten its way towards the cylinder liner as you can see in the photos. I am not sure why but both are the #6 cylinder only, none of the others have issues. It would seem like a shame to toss these blocks since there is nothing wrong with them otherwise. Has anyone else ever dealt with this before? Is it possible to fix/weld this area? Thoughts?

yes ive seen that, the block is trash.

the one i had went to a buddy who wanted to use it to make a custom intake.

Thanks, I figured as much. Seems any method of repair would cost more than it is worth with all things considered, so I'll have to look for a good block. Sucks because I sold a perfectly good block only a few years ago!

My engine block had some corrosion like that on one cylinder, but not quite so bad. A local machine shop repaired it with some sort of epoxy, using a cylinder liner to shape it. I'm not quite sure how as the liner was removed before the epoxy dried.

Then I reassembled the engine with new liners. 70K miles later and it's still going.
