    My VIN:    897 5 spd,

I've got a 3.0L PRV and what I think is an even fire 2.8L sitting in the garage (doesn't everyone keep spare engines on hand). A project I've yet to start is to build up a 3.0L with the stock DeLorean intake manifolds. Why ... I want to preserve the look of the original engine.

I thought the 2.8L intake manifold wouldn't bolt directly to the 3.0L engine. Yet it looks like you did that somehow. Somewhere someone posted doing such but each port had a tube spacer that was maybe an inch long (That's a serious SWAG). I was thinking of an aluminum spacer plate of some sort.

Did you mount the 2.8 intake manifold on the 3.0L engine ... and how did you do that? Inquiring minds want to know.

EDIT ... After posting, I reread the original post. Looks like you used the original heads on the 3.0L block. Correct?

    - No matter how many people believe in a dumb idea ... it is still a dumb idea!
    - Some cars look fast. Some cars look faster than time!
    - The question is not "where did the time go" but rather "where to go in time".

He used the original B28F heads. You can tell by the way he did the injectors. B280F and the 3.0 heads don't have injector ports. So, before worrying about an adapter to get the manifold to fit, your first problem is figuring out how to get injectors on your engine using 3.0 heads and stock B28F manifold...

[edit] To add some further complications you'll encounter: you can't use the original valve covers with 3.0 heads. The 3.0 rocker arms are taller and will hit the ribs inside the stock B28F valve covers. You may be able to modify them to fit by grinding down the ribs.

The 3.0 head does not have the hose nipple on the back of it for the heater line. Instead, it uses a steel line coming off the water pump for the heater line which would mean you'd need to run the 3.0 water pump. In order to use the 3.0 water pump, you'd need to use the 3.0 or B280F "Y" pipe (DeLorean Y pipe connects to the water pump on the left side, 3.0 and B280F is reverse and connects on the right side of the pump). Those Y pipes do not have the threaded ports for the lambda sensor, vacuum switch or thermister.

The 2.8 B280F even-fire is even more different than the 3.0 and B28F - Different driver side head, longer driver side valve cover and the timing cover is different on the driver side.

3.0 and B280F heads don't have a place for a distributor & the camshafts don't have teeth for a distributor.

Easier to just use the stock heads.
