Location of temperature sender for gauge cluster

Ever since I removed the K-Jet and switched to carb my temperature gauge seems to be reading low. It stays on the first line above 100f and doesn't seem to fluctuate high or low regardless. What I can't seem to figure out is where exactly the sensor is for the gauge cluster. Is it in the cylinder head, or is it in the coolant y-pipe? Any pics would be a great help.

If memory serves me it is on the passenger side cylinder head on the forward send. Green wire going to it.

The otter stat in the driver side coolant pipe is what turns the cooling fans on and off

Thanks, yeah the fans work fine so I'll look at the passenger side cylinder head for the sensor. Maybe I unplugged it while tidying up all the other wiring I didnt need after going carb.

Yes, forward end of passenger cyl head, a bit toward the valley.

Item 45 in this parts diagram.
