VIN 4512 | 1981 Delorean | Grey interior | 5 speed | 103k miles | $65,000
dmc4512forsale(at)gmail(dot)com for serious inquires. I won't be monitoring this post much. But will update if needed.
Car is located in Holland Michigan.
It's very strange to be posting this, but I feel like it's time.
I bought my Delorean in 1999 with 55k miles. In 2005 I swapped out the rusted frame with a nice restored frame. During that time we rebuilt the engine and transmission. Swapped out the suspension. Replaced fuel parts. Brake parts. Clutch system. Metal door handles. Cooling system. LED lights inside and out. New battery last year. New wheels. New windshield. Passenger door dent removed thanks to DMC Midwest back in 2008 or so. Replaced the relays with new updated parts from DMCH. The list of items is too long. Since 2005 I've used it as a summer pleasure cruiser. Literally haven't had to do anything except normal fluid flushes, brake pad replacement. It starts right up and is a joy to drive.
The past few years I've driven it less. But still take it out for about 2k miles a year. I recently replace the dashboard with a DMCH replacement. I still have the old dash and will include that in the sale in case the new owner wants to get that rebuilt and re-installed. The binnacle was replaced with a leather wrapped binnacle from DMCH. Those two items were done in the past 2 years. I pulled the interior apart at that time and put in sound dampening mats and washed the carpet. I have a new master clutch cylinder included. Along with an engine tuneup kit I got from DMCH within the past year.
I also have a lot of used parts from various parts cars over the years. The quality of these parts is of question, many being parts that may not need to ever be replaced. But all the parts I have will come with the car. There are some good items in there that I'd be happy to talk to serious buyers about via video call if you'd like.
Things that don't work:
AC isn't setup. The parts are all there. New lines installed. Newer compressor. When I had it running I accidentally tightened the low pressure switch on too tight and it leaked the coolant. I just haven't gone to replace and recharge.
Just recently the drivers window got knocked loose from the track. It still goes up and down with a bit of help.
Auto door locks were disconnected many moons ago.
Pictures show some small cracks on the front and rear bumpers Paint is nice and shinny though.
Electric antenna was removed. It broke just a few weeks ago so I pulled it out since I only listen to music on my phone via USB.
Just started to notice some creaking noises on the suspension on the passenger side. I replaced the bushings on the drivers side a few years ago so it might be that. I haven't checked yet.
Catalitic converter was hollowed out soon after I bought the car. I do have used replacements that will come with the car. No idea of their condition inside.
Overall this Delorean has been amazing to me and my family. 25yrs of pure joy with it. And even in it's worst condition when I bought it, it has never left me on the side of the road. This does have high miles, but those miles have done well to the car, and it shows by how reliable it's been.
Here is a link to some recent photos and some photos before the dashboard and binnacle were replaced. I will be adding to this photo library this weekend.

I'm not in a rush to sell. I love the car very much, and am fine keeping it for another season. But wanted to get it out there in case the right buyer comes along. I'd want this to go to a very good home. This car has been my pride for a very long time. I'm happy to do video walk throughs, phone calls, texting, for serious buyers.
Thanks all,
Erik

I did my best to highlight all parts of the car. The photos of the frame make it look worse than it is. The frame is solid, but has some light rust discoloration on the crossmember. The metal is solid though. I put this frame on it back in 2005 and it hasn't seen rain or snow since then.
If there is anything else anyone would like to see, please let me know. Inquiries can be sent to [email protected]
