If these guys could figure out a way to produce a car that looks like a DeLorean but performs like a Vette and/or runs like a Civic they could write their own ticket but I guess selling the same batch of NFTs to a new crop of suckers is the easier money. [rolleyes so big God can't lift it]

The title of this thread made me think of my beloved Lab, Sammy. She loved to go for a ride and would jump in our other car as soon as the hatchback was opened. One day I backed the DeLorean into the driveway and opened the louver and engine cover to check something. Before I could stop her Sam took a leap and was standing on the hot engine. I quickly scooped her up and got her off of it. Now THAT was a DeLorean Lab!

    Still lurking...
    1981 DeLorean w/supercharged Chevy V6 - purchased 1990; built '90-'95; sold 2005; re-purchased 2016; sold again 2017
    1957 Dodge D500 Hemi convertible - restoration completed 7/2015; sold 12/2019
1957 Dodge 2-door station wagon, 2019 Chrysler drivetrain
    2000 Corvette convertible

DeLorean Labs and Shiba Inu Team Up for Exclusive NFT-Chipped Action Figure Giveaway

DeLorean Labs, in a move that?s revving up excitement in both the automotive and crypto communities, has announced a unique collaboration with the Shiba Inu crypto project.

Two iconic brands collide in an unexpected giveaway. DeLorean and Shiba Inu are offering fans the chance to win exclusive action figure sets, hinting at a deeper collaboration.

The initiative will see the release of 388 rare, custom-designed SHIB X DeLorean action figure sets, exclusively available as part of the DeLorean Time Capsule NFT prize pool. This exciting initiative is made possible through a partnership with ShibaCals, a platform revolutionizing the connection between physical merchandise and digital assets.

?Icons stick together!? proclaimed DeLorean Labs on X, announcing the giveaway and highlighting their friendship with the iconic Shiba Inu community. These aren?t just any action figures; each set will be embedded with an NFC chip, courtesy of ShibaCals, linking the physical collectible to unique on-chain attributes and providing verifiable authenticity.

ShibaCals, a Shiba Inu-driven platform, specializes in transforming digital assets, particularly NFTs, into tangible merchandise. Their innovative use of NFC technology allows users to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds, authenticating products and connecting them to online experiences, websites, or even the Metaverse. This collaboration with DeLorean Labs showcases the potential of ShibaCals to elevate the value and utility of NFTs.

The giveaway coincides with the final mint window for DeLorean Labs? highly anticipated Time Capsule NFTs, adding significant value and excitement for collectors. The inclusion of these exclusive, NFC-chipped action figures, powered by ShibaCals, is expected to drive substantial interest and further solidify the Time Capsule?s position as a unique and innovative initiative.

?We want to celebrate our friendship with the iconic Shib,? DeLorean Labs said, emphasizing the strategic partnership with the popular meme coin and its passionate community. By leveraging ShibaCals? technology, DeLorean Labs, beyond offering a unique collectible, is also demonstrating the growing potential of integrating physical merchandise with blockchain technology.

The DeLorean Labs announcement sent ripples of excitement through the Shiba Inu community, with tech wizard Kaal Dhairya leading the charge. On X, he playfully quipped that winning a DeLorean would be his ticket to a time-traveling investment spree, ensuring a ?future secured? with more SHIB. And of course, he?s already picturing those SHIB X DeLorean action figures adorning his dashboard!

DeLorean Labs also hinted at future collaborations and ?more special Treats? to ?be unleashed to our amazing communities!?

Anyone going to the 2025 Closing Party?
    https://decrypt.co/318639/otherlife-...-closing-party
    They have an open bar!

Seriously though. Anyone out there into all the digital block/circle/square chains that can explain it to me like I'm a 3rd grader?
I've read all the FAQs and other info (https://deloreanlabs.com/), and it is just a word salad in my head. Maybe I'm too old? Yeah, Get off my lawn!

You give me money. I give you some bits in my database.

Maybe you can sell these bits for more later if you find someone with a higher chump factor.

Maybe you lose your money because it turns out you were the biggest chump.

Not all that long ago, but before cuneiform was all the rage, our species came up with the idea of a ledger economy. This would eventually provide inspiration for the fiat based economies we enjoy today but duplicative manufacturing or even writing something down wasn't quite yet in vogue. With the ledger model, everyone gathered around a large rock, or similarly permanent object, and made marks on it to record who owned what. When transactions were made, stakeholders involved and their witnesses gathered and made new marks to illustrate the adjustments. Everyone in the tribe referenced the ledger to know who owned what whenever that information was needed. None of the marks had any intrinsic value and any value derived was solely from everyone in the tribe acquiescing to the rules.

Outside of subbing in a math equation for a smaller rock scratching a bigger one with an audience, block chain sequencing does not do much outside of its original implementation. Participants all hold a local copy, which is new, but without being able to communicate with the reference server (agreed ledger) and authenticate it isn't actually a transaction that updates the chain of marks on the ledger.
