Some cool circa 1980-81 Delorean news reports

I thought I had seen them all, but these are quite interesting with a candid interview with JZD that I had never seen as well. The last few minutes of the video are very ominous:

That was really cool. I like how open he was about his life, and predictions of the future. The behind the scenes at the factory was a nice addition as well.
Does it have a flux capacitor?
Does it run on 1.21 Giggawatts?

No but I have been chased by ladies because it’s a chick magnet!

That was certainly interesting, thanks for sharing.

Two questions about things that piqued my curiosity:

At 4:26 there's a black panel visible on the top of the door. Any idea what that is?

At 6:38 it appears that there's a car on a lift in the background. I don't recognize it, although it could conceivably be a DMC prototype or Renault car and just be distorted through the glass or something.

4:26...looks like a pre-production car. I can see the sliding window frame.

    6:38..No idea, maybe a Europa? Porsche 914?

4:26 - On the RH door, it just looks like the armrest, taken from underneath.

    6.38 - Looks like a Lotus Eclat

or maybe an esprit, hard to tell in 1/2 second

    (that's the bond one btw)

Did you also catch this one:

6.24 - Looks like a Renault Alpine, possibly this one:
    Dermot
    VIN 2743, B/A, Frame 2227, engine 2320

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

Thanks for the car IDs, guys.

Actually, I think the black panel I was referring to (it's on top of the driver's side door) is just padding for the assemblers to lean on and not scratch the car. Hard to say but it looks like it's just sitting on top of the door.

I was all excited and thought maybe it was some bizarre graphics package or t-top style window cutout template or something. Looks like just a foam mat of some kind.
