Micro controller hardware
For you guys into micro controller coding.
I just finished a fun project using my idle ECU circuit board. I did use an older version idle ECU circuit board to make an ignition simulator for testing my products that use the ignition a few years ago. So in the present circuit board I had added SPI circuit connections and a space to use a 20 Mhz CPU clock. I drive a 4 line 20 character LCD display via the SPI.
This new project is an oven that can set lower hold temps than your conventional kitchen oven. I need this for my circuit design testing. My result is an oven that can hold +/- 0.3 degree F from room temp to 250 F. I do that by controlling 20 cycles of the 60 cycle AC power. That gives me power to the heater in steps of 5% from 0 to 100% power. All done at zero crossing of the AC power line. The idle ECU board even used the opto coupler that is used to sense ignition pulses but I use it now to sense the 60 cycle power timing.
I love doing these design projects when I get caught up on building my inventory.
