What have you done to your DeLorean today?

After 6 months of work, my EV DeLorean is back up and running! And this time, the wiring harness is properly routed through the interior and I am able to bring passengers along for a ride.

Updated my build thread with my latest video of rewiring the car, and I'll have a video of the "first drive"... again... in about a week, once I get some updated footage.

During the test drive I am getting a really nasty squeal from the rear left wheel any time I would take a left turn at more than about 5mph. I think its the wheel bearing, so I've ordered a replacement pair. The car only had a couple hundred miles on the previous set, so it may have been an installation issue on my end. I'll also check the brake caliper for rubbing and what not while I'm in there.

Yup...that was it. Idled the car for a solid hour with a test hose. Unfortunately the idle motor is unmounted to support the hose and the setup will work itself loose if I drive it. Hopefully DMCH gets me the new hose soon.

Just an FYI, I replaced those worm gear hose clamps on the brass tube with tension band clamps.

This way, it prevents the clamps from being overtightened and risk cutting into the hose and causing a break/split in it.

lol unfortunately mine just broke right after the mount point. It was just that brittle. I hopefully will be getting the new hose tomorrow.

Today I swapped a leaking fuel hose at the accumulator. It was rubbing against a hard-line and had developed a microscopic hole that was weeping quite a bit. Far from anything hot, but still a bit scary, so wanted to fix it.

I also fixed my left side hand brake. I had fixed it before (friction material had fallen off one of the pads), but suddenly the cable unhooked at the handle end. Hard to reach, so I took the seat out. Not sure if needed, but it made it a lot easier to reach in and fiddle with the cable.

I pressure washed the wheels today. Looks a lot better but still needs something to get it really cleaned between the tight spokes. Solvent on a Q-tip works but that would take weeks of work. Mine have never been cleaned as long as I have owned the car so mine may be worse than most.

After literal years of brainstorming and putting the whole project off, I officially completed my 10" Touch Screen Vent-Swap Mod. The airflow from the center stack is actually improved sans the removal of the rubber plenum sleeves. While there was a lot of fabrication involved, this ended up being very painless in the end.

I also like the SONAX and this lug nut brush from Autozone under 5 bucks. The bristles are on wires so they can be twisted. Works perfect and speeds up getting in between the fins/spokes what ever you want to call them.
