Lets see.. Currently all my owned cars were merely to get to work.
previously owned:
1992 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 1.6 Diesel --1st car. Already had ran 387.000 km's when i bought it. But it was a great car.
1998 Volkswagen Polo 1.6i --75hp lightweight go kart. Got this one when my mother bought a new car. It actually had an aircon but the transmission and clutch were completely worn.
2006 Hyundai Getz --1.4i 100hp --meh. The car was quite fast and reliable. But not really something you want to drive... Value for money.
2010 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TDI Bluemotion. 3-cylinder turbodiesel Veery economical but sloooooow. Sold it when i moved closer to my job. -lemon
--
Currently own a 1985 Volkswagen Golf CL Diesel. It has a sunroof, optional 4+E Geabox and a analog clock where the rev counter should be. it's two years older than i am.
Here's my list, You'll notice a trend before long lol
1992 Ford Falcon GLi (EBII) 1st car, was fantastic, ran on LPG, cost less than $30 to fill it up for a week
1978 Ford Fairmont GXL 4 door, Was my first foray into muscle cars. was a factory 302 Cleveland, rebuilt the motor and stroked it 351 cubes... loved that car went like the clappers and looked grandpa-tastic
1976 Ford Fairmont GS Hardtop, My coupe... 351 V8, worked C4, 9 inch with tramp rods. still have it and love it dearly, has made me some great friends around Australia.
1992 Ford Falcon Wagon aka Little Red Wagon... bought it for $400 off the scrappers, drove it for 3 months until it blew a head gasket at which point I sold it back to the scrap yard I bought it from for $200...
1983 Ford Fairmont Ghia V8 - was going to build it into a replica of the Dick Johnson Greens Tuf racecar but lost my job and it had to go.
1975 Ford LTD. 351, FMX, 9 Inch. epically awesome car. could carry 6 people on a pub crawl with ease. could manage 100mph without issue. but was rusty and I sold it to help finance the DeLorean purchase... next owner dismantled it... Not happy about that one
1983 Ford Falcon aka the Beige Cardigan, runabout, rusty, beige... not much to talk about.
1981 DeLorean DMC 12 - 02065, one family car from Sacramento, has done 3,800 miles in 18 years. Living the Dream =D
Dave Newbury, 1976 XB Fairmont GS Hardtop 351, 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 #02065
Here's my list of the cars that honestly my dad owned, not me. They're just cars that have had an impact on my life.
1987 Cadillac DeVille: A brown, almost golden Cadillac coupe that used to be used as a family car for as long as I can remember more than our van before that. During that time, it traveled many far places several times without much of a problem aside from one time. It's gone to Colorado, New Mexico, and Florida at least once. For years though, it hasn't been used; just turned on every once in a while to keep the juices flowing. Now it spews blue smoke. As much as this one had a bigger impact on my life, it does deserve a better home now.
1993 Ford Taurus: It used to be my sister's car. Then it sat in our driveway for a while until Dad and I used it to help me practice driving while I was learning. It did have a bad transmission but it was able to behave during my short driving lessons. After he got a new transmission and more A/C fluid, I used it to go to University of Houston as soon as I got my under-age-21 license. The comfortable A/C didn't last long though. We finally sold it over three years ago.
1997 Ford Explorer: Again, another car that has put some impact in my life. Not as much as the Cadillac had but it is in second place. It ended up becoming a reliable ride for me after the Taurus' A/C went out while attending UH and bit into when I went to Houston Community College. It, too, has made quite some miles to faraway places like the Alamoso white sands. My dad did try to sell it nearly a year ago, which he actually did, but it was returned when the buyer needed that money for something more important. Now Dad has used it for some of his dirtier jobs so he doesn't have to use the other Explorer for that type of work.
2007 Ford Explorer: This one, never was exactly a big fan of. Why? Cuz its alarm goes ballistic sometimes. One time after class, I was contentedly enjoying a Reese's in the SUV before starting it up. Once I did start it up after finishing, it went nuts. I will never forget that evening. Oh, and this one is red just like the '97. Our neighbor thought he was seeing double when he noticed the two Fords in our driveway shortly after this one was bought. My dad decided to name it 007 after those movies for fun. It did take us on our vacation over a year and a half ago, from New Mexico to Arizona to Utah and reverse back to Texas.
2005 Chrysler Sebring: Yes, the trend of Fords has ended. Now I got this sedan as my daily driver. With an awesome sunroof and the ability to pick up speed quickly despite it being a 4 cylinder, I never thought I would take such a liking. Course it doesn't come anywhere near my thoughts for my dream car. It's been reliable for me since 2008 shortly after the Taurus was sold. It was somewhat a trade, you might say, but more like a way for Dad to get some money for selling the Taurus so he can buy another car I can use. I love its vicious shark face.

1993 Ford Taurus SHO 3.2
- Loved this car immensely. That aluminum Yamaha engine was a thing of beauty that was not only bulletproof, but fast as hell too. The car was the ultimate sleeper - looked almost exactly like any other Taurus at the time. It had a more agressive body kit, subtle SHO badging and those awesome Italian fan-blade wheels. And the best shade of red paint I've ever seen on a car. It could smoke anything I ran across at the time, but still had a comfortable leather interior with power everything (even a 10-way power driver's seat! In 1993!), a great stereo, automatic climate control and headlights, etc. Way ahead of it's time and I *VERY* grudgingly sold it in 2000 with almost 200k miles on it. Did I mention it also never had a single repair outside of scheduled maintenance, an insatiable lust for sticky high-performance rubber, and a broken power antenna? Damn I miss that car.
2000 Ford Escort ZX2
- Sigh. I traded the SHO in for this because I couldn't afford to keep up with the expensive tires and premium gas anymore. Plus having a new car with a warranty was appealing. The guy at the dealership who came out to switch my license plates over looked like he wanted to cry when he said "really? you're trading this... for THAT?"
This car was a COMPLETE lemon. I'd go into the details but it would take months to type it all. Suffice it to say that I traded this in in 2005 with 36,000 miles on the clock. I paid $16k for it new. Repair bills from 2003-2005 (after the warranty ran out) totaled almost 10k. It spent more time in the shop than on the road, even under warranty. My favorite stories were when I slammed on the brakes to avoid a semi that had just jacknifed and the head fuse blew. The car went completely dead and only the e-brake and about 18" came between me and certain death. Or the fact that 1st gear shredded itself (in an automatic) into a pound of steel filings and I couldn't afford to repair it. Or the time I propped the hood up and the shitty weak steel just gave out around the prop rod and the whole thing came down on me. I took 1500 bucks and was glad to see it go.
2003 Honda Civix EX (wife's current DD)
- Reliable, basic transportation. Got the one with all the options because honestly, why not at this price. 130,000 miles. I'm convinced it will run forever.
2006 Acura RSX
- This is another great car that hits all the right buttons and is my current DD. Bulletproof, virtually maintenance free, handles like nothing else I've ever driven. Comfortable, quiet, lots of gadgets. It's got 65,000 miles on it now and hasn't needed a single repair. It looks, feels, drives and smells like new. Not a rattle or squeak anywhere, even the chassis and interior. Honda knows how to build 'em. It isn't as fast as I'd like, but when I bought it I was living in downtown Boston and didn't think the 6-speed Type S was the right way to go for that kind of driving.
1981 DeLorean DMC-12 #2100
- What can I say? Living the dream.
