Painted my original faded 1/4 vents recently and used Wurth satin black trim paint. This was suggested over SEM by my the owner of the body shop I use. He advised it lasts longer and is more durable than SEM and lays down easier even when humidity is elevated - like here in S. FL. Alcohol wipe and spray - zero primer. They turned out great.

    Wurth is really good stuff.

I would recommend a clear top coat (gloss level is up to you) for added durability. Even though most spray cans are still 1k, a 2k top coat is ideal and there are some that offer their products in a 2k spray can. The hardener is in an internal tank inside the can. You break it, shake to mix, and spray.

The down side is you can only use it once because anything that's left in the can will be cured within a few hours.

    SEM Trim Black

I use SEM trim black. Painted an engine cover too. I sometimes spray it into a small cup and use a small brush for touch ups or in the interior.
