    LED Headlights

Has anyone considered LED headlights? I found these LED headlights from JW Speaker tonight. They are quite expensive, but they look awesome. Check out the demo video at the bottom of the page here:

They look cool, but I just replaced all my headlights, they were about $8 each. Maybe if the LED ones were like $50 each, I might consider them.

What is the advantage to LED headlights? those look like nice units but $500 bucks is alot to spend on a couple lights. I always thought the advantage was current draw, but these still suck up alot of amps.

    niiiiiiceee!!!!
Thanx.. Anyone installed these before? are they any good?

Those come with HI and LOW beam in one, so you would have twice the lighting power if installed double.

From what I understand, the connector for the H4 bulbs is the same, but you have to either use an adaptor or do this to your connectors:

    Josh,

They are solid state, which means they will last nearly forever. The color temperature is 5500K, and they produce 1300 lumens with only 42watts.

    Ever use a LED flashlight?

I just found a manufacturer in China who makes some of these 4x6 LED headlights and I sent them a request for samples.

As I read they have about 850 useful lumens. A plain old 4x6 will output over 1000 lumens and at 55W. I dont really see a benifit there. However that is a good point about the color temp.

Yes I have used a LED flashlight... :P
