    Is this tire still good?

    The title says it all, and I know pictures are a poor way of giving detailed analysis on anything, but in your best opinion, is this tire still "good"? I have to get my car inspected very soon and I dont have money for a new tire, so it would be invaluble to know if this tire is good.

    Thanks,
    Jared

    No. If you can't afford a new tire go get a used one.

    How much do used tires usually cost and last? Also, would any place that sells tires sell used tires?

    That tire is a factory original on my daily driver 5/30/2006 with 37676.6 miles on it and counting.

    I think you need to pickup your phone book and start calling around for an question like that. Where I live used tires range from $15 - $40 depending on where you go. How long it will last depends on what condition it is in.

    Depending on what kind of tire it's probably at the end of its usefulness. Most performance tires rarely make it to 40K miles so I'd replace it pretty quickly if i were you.

    Right now, I have three 1-2 year old Fuzion tires on my car and one factory original Falken 5 year old tire with almost 38000 miles on it. I plan on getting a used tire on Monday to just get me by until I can afford a full new set. I am putting a new fuel filter in my car, getting a tune-up with ol change (AMSOIL and K&N filter) along with changing my cabin air filter. I am waiting until my pay finally comes in to drain my tranny and case as well as change that filter and my car should be good for quite some time.

    <EDIT>
    Not sure if anyone uses Bosch cabin air filters here or not, but I ordered one for the Mustang, any idea if it is any good?

    Try wal-mart own-brand, sometimes as cheap as a used one.

    Obviously not great tires, so no burnouts or racing.

    No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"
