My recollection before the thread got taken apart was that he said that the car had sat for a very long time, he started it, ran it a while, put in more gas, and it died.
My educated guess is that all the old crap on the bottom of the fuel tank is now plugging up the pickup screen, filter, or the injectors. Or all of the above.
Before you do anything else, lift the fuel pump out of the tank and tell us what you see, or better, stick a camera in it and take a picture.
