I'm still chasing a squeak. I'm almost positive it is the idle speed motor. I've eliminated all the vacuum leaks and my stethoscope traces the squeaking to the motor itself. I'm not sure if it is possible to test it with the car off.

The way I see it, if you're gonna drive around in a car, why not do it with some style?

Of course a simple light bulb swap was met with difficulty. Driver side rear marker light wasn't burned out; the tabs that hold the socket were broken off and the socket was lost behind the quarter panelHad to loosen the fascia to get it back.
Front marker light sockets are both heavily corroded and the passenger side bulb base is frozen in the socketGoing to NAPA today to find replacement sockets

I prototyped a new 3rd break light. They are said to be water-proof. I ran the wire into the inside of the louvers from the latch hole so I can keep the wire inside and out of site. I think it will work good. I'm going to get some blackout film to go over them so it just looks black when they are not on. They are freakishly bright, this was with a 9v batter hooked up. I might wire a full voltage strobe circuit to them for tailgaters.

shouldnt the 3rd stop light be together with the other stop lights?

Installed new angle drive dust cap and secured the lower speedo cable to the speedo bracket in an attempt to smooth out the speedometer at lower speeds.
Replaced side rubber stripping on the hood and took it for a drive. Bouncy speedometer between 5 and 25 mph is better now but still there a bit. Smooth needle on anything above 25mph.
Replaced a couple of stripped lug nuts. One of these days I'll have to look into what is squealing on startup in/around thr engine.
I started the D, drove her out of the garage, and took a trip around the block. Perhaps 5 minutes of driving, but it felt good.
The squeak went away. The last thing I did was replace the T fitting off the WUR. The squeak was still there after a test start up and idle. I gave up and left the car for a week. Tonight I started it up, it squeaked as usual, drove it toward the grocery store, and stopped in an empty lot partway there because my passenger door wasn't latched on the front side. When I walked back around the car I noticed that there wasn't a squeaking even though it was idling. Sure enough all the way to the store and all the way home, no squeaks. I'm going to check it tomorrow. No idea what may have fixed it but I hope it's permanently fixed.
