The last thing we did...well my wife did...I to swap around the rear gearchange tube so that the bend is on the forward part of the tube and face the bend so the tube arcs towards the hole in the frame. Based on research I THINK this is how this is supposed to go. We are still not 100% certain. While we were in there we removed the pivot bolt, cleaned the anti-seize off the threads, and put it back in with threadlocker as recommended by 82DMC12 (Andy L). There are quite a bit of extra threads sticking out so I may install a nut with thread locker on there as a jam nut also.

Tonight after work we spent some time going through all the boxes of parts on the shelves. Threw some stuff out, condensed boxes of parts, better labeled boxes, etc.
Next we pulled the motor out and got started on disassembling it.

While the wife was removing the oil pump and timing chain parts I worked on a snapped off bolt in the Y-pipe. Drilled it out until the Y-pipe came off.

Almost all of the head bolts were stuck solid. I felt like I was going to snap my 1/2" breaker bar. We ended up having to heat the block to most of the bolts out. They came out DRY!

Both of the oil galley screens had a hole in them. I am assuming they are made this way from the factory. Kind of odd. Not sure if I'll be putting them back in.

So much rust and corrosion. I'm a bit concerned with the condition of the engine mounts.
I've also been thinking of how to get the old mount studs out without ruining the engine block.

Looks like a bit of a pickle, is most of the engine mount stud broken off?

Never seen those screens before. They look like something you pull out of a washing machine hose.
Definitely interested in how you get those motor mount studs out!

I doubt they will come out, he's probably going to have to drill through the whole thing.
