Next I torqued down all of the suspension bolts. Meanwhile Tam cleaned up the headlight wiring harness.

Tightening the suspension bolts with the wheels and tires on the car is horrible!!! And not having the car on a drive on lift is even worse. It took me over an hour to tighten these bolts. I suppose that I could have tried to set the outer suspension on jack stands and taken the wheels off.

The torque specs for most of the bolts was 60 ft-lbs. This seemed really tight to me and I had a hard time even getting the wrench to click so I only went to 50 for now. I can always tighten more later when I do my checks after break in.

I don't like this. I'll have to either cut the end of these bolts off or pull them out and spin them around the other way.

I hooked up the brake lines at the MC and installed the original cover that Tam had cleaned up.

While I had the wheels off I installed a clip to hold the O2 sensor wire and sealed the hole in the grommet with black silicone sealant.

As I started looking at the braking system I was reminded of loose ends I left undone. Like the lines to the front calipers. I messaged back and forth with Andy and Josh and figured it out.

I filled up the reservoir with brake fluid. Tam set the driver's seat in the car and climbed in.

We started bleeding the braking system.

We ended up finding leak after leak after leak. Super frustrating. Stuipid stuff like fittings that just never got tightened at all. Still loving these special offset wrenches though!!
We managed to find and fix all of the leaks caused by untightened connections. The left rear caliper was leaking bad every time there was pressure on the system.
I removed the parking brake assembly for better access.

It looked like the feed line adapter was leaking at the caliper. I replaced the copper crush washer and cranked it down really tight. Tried pumping it up and then the crossover adapter was weeping. Pulled that apart which is a challenge. Put on a new washer and cranked it down. Pumped the brake. Still weeping. Dang it....
I knew what we had to do....remove the whole caliper to see why the fittings were not sealing. After 12 frustrating hours working in heat and humidity this isn't what we wanted to do but we went for it.
Found the issue and I kind of thought this might be the issue. The surface of the caliper body is too rough for the sealing washers to properly seal.

So this all made sense when I thought about it. The original lines sealed internally not on the surface like these do. I may actually switch to the original type lines at the calipers at some point.
We bled all of the calipers again sprayed down all the areas that leaked so hopefully the brake fluid doesn't cause rusting.
The end of a long day.

Matt, a Delorean friend from WI who is around the same stage on his car as we are on ours sent me some free rear frame hole plugs. So cool!

    I'm a little behind as I don't have a helper!
