We have acknowledged that you know what you're talking about, but clearly you are after information we don't have in pursuit of a goal that isn't common with a lot of the membership.

I suggest you open your eyes and see how the non-fly-by-night big boys do it, and have done it, successfully, for years.

here's your problem. We are delorean owners, there were only 9000 built, of which, only a few hundred owners, maybe a thousand reside on this forum. You can count the number of owners who care to build a race spec prv on one hand. You are asking for very specific information that most don't have or care about. Hell, your talking to a group that went out and bought slow cars knowing they were slow. Most people don't care about the little numbers.

And you comment about fly by night vendors is insulting and demeaning to people who have dedicated their lives to servicing our very small niche. I don't care if it's Ed or Bengston. They make good quality proven parts, whereas what have you contributing to the dmc community than your piss poor attitude? We do not own Chevys. There are not hundreds of thousands roaming the roads. There are at most 6000. We don't have big boys because we don't need them, and we certainly don't need your attitude.

I seriously doubt that most people who own these cars are as green and oblivious as the tiny handful of objectors posting in this thread, appear to be.

I'm not pointing a finger or disparaging anyone with my 'fly by night' comment and frankly, I'm entitled to my impressions and am free to compare them to other marques' communities.

However, plenty can simply look at an exhaust and KNOW it's intended purpose yet nobody can look at the industry accepted cam spec data and replicate a cam lobe with 100% certainty.

That is more edification for any clowns that think somebody is trying to rip off somebody's product by merely having a few numbers.

I'm sure that many of you have no desire or comprehend things like lobe centers, lift@ 0.020, lift@ 0.050" what materials go fast goodies are made of or even who makes them, but most people who aren't spending momma and daddy's money damned sure do. And none of the performance parts I've seen offered is inexpensive stuff!

Believe me, I won't ask twice for such numbers and if a vendor doesn't forthrightly disclose vital numbers, I'm not generally inclined to even ask once. You rock your baby however suits you.

FORTUNATELY, this engine is used by many other marques comprised of many serious enthusiasts and suppliers who aren't nearly as tight lipped with non-esoteric information, or over-tightly wound regarding subjects of which they can add nothing to or perhaps know nothing of.
