Replacing window felt with rubber tutorial

Hello
I've been needing to replace the window fuzzies and wondered if there was a rubber alternative. This person has posted a tutorial. Does anybody see anything wrong with doing this? I'm just wondering if it would end up being the right length or for something else that wouldn't work about it.

I wrote that 15 years ago and just did this same thing to my new DeLorean. Works great for me. No regrets.

^ Are there already holes in the metal bracket or did you have to drill them out? The tutorial doesn't really say.

^ Some folks have had luck finding a suitable felt/rubber strip on Ebay, but that was a few years ago. You could also try a junkyard.

It has a chrome edge that's somewhat visible. I drilled 1/8" holes in the metal bracket and riveted this trim to it. Working well for a few thousand miles now.

No drilling is required:

"The trim is held on to the bracket by squeezing the bracket between the trim (which is metal coated in rubber) and the washer. After it's all tightened, the trim won't budge."

This is the same product I used. It's a great alternative to the original equipment. I had a write up somewhere on here. Maybe it was on the old .COM site.

Thanks again Christian! Did this back in 2003 still holding up with zero issues.

Ed at Delorean Europe sells an improved felt version that I stock and have used about twenty in the shop so far. It seems much better and more durable than the original style.
