I was out shopping this afternoon in the minivan and when I came back to where it was parked I noticed a long crease in the body work from the rear door all the way to the back of the car that hasn't been there when it was parked.

Son of a bitch!!

But wait, there is a note! With a name and phone number! (Doesn't even say "all these people watching think I'm writing my name, but I'm not.....")

I call the number and it is actually real. Answered by a lady who is genuinely sorry. We exchange details and her USAA insurance rep will call me On Monday.

Someone actually doing the right thing even though it will cost them money, even though they could have just driven off or left a false number.

It's kinda inspirational.

Thank you Ashley.

You got a girl's phone number. Nice!

I like honest girls. You should hook me up.

She's probably honest because she wants to set a good example for her grandkids.

On one hand, she wouldn't give me her DL number or address, (legal requirement?) but on the other, she did give me her policy # which is all I really need.

I did wonder if by having USAA insurance indicated that she (or family) was military and whether that would imply a higher moral standard. Or just that she was brought up properly.

She's 41 btw Chris so Farrar might be on the right track. Could have still left a false number though.

Assuming it all works out OK, I'll certainly be calling her back to thank her for her honesty. Sending flowers to someone who wouldn't give me her address would seem a little stalkerish.
