Slight fuel smell when car sits...

I have a very slight fuel smell when the car is sitting. The smell is around the front of the car and it also makes its way into the cabin. Very slight smell. I have checked everywhere, I think.

Has anyone ever had this?

Usual suspects are fuel pump boot, fuel cap, accumulator lines, and etc...

Agreed. If its intermittent, I'd suspect the fuel accumulator lines. If you're running a replaced accumulator that is. If its the original I'd doubt it, as those sweated on lines really seem to hold. Also, check the gasket in the cap for the sender.

Had a similar issue. I eventually found the source to be degrading orange fuel pump hoses that had been put in at some point. Replaced, fuel smell gone. They were starting to leak where the both fastened to the hard lines, under the bonnet.

If you notice the fumes at the front of the car the usual suspects are:
Wrong fuel cap or the seal is damaged
Bad inner and/or cover boots for the fuel pump
Loose hose connection by the fill, or rollover valve
Loose or bad seal on the tank level sender
The first thing to check is the cap since it is the easiest. Next remove the cover boot and inspect all of the rubber around the fuel pump. The inner boot should be dry, no fuel or water in there. If there is, replace both boots. Check that the large nut holding the tank sender is tight. Typically the smell is worse when you have more fuel if you have a leak in this area.

I forgot to mention that I have the new all-in-one fuel pump from DMCH....

Well then, recheck that it was installed correctly and then check the other things.

There was someone else who,installed a new fuel pump recently on a thread. When he took a picture of it, we could see that he had it installed incorrectly. Can you take a pic of your fuel pump, and is the smell only evident after the switch over?
