My neighbor came over and said she saw a Black Delorean on the Price Is Right the other day. Has anyone see the show?

I wonder what the price was? Or if it really was a Delorean.

I have heard this story before but it was back in the 80's. Are you sure he was talking about the other day or what seemed like the other day.

After a little googling I found that there was one in December 1981 on TPIR as part of "the viewers showcase", not black though.

Car is shown at around the 1 min mark, donated by DMC

(I love that they actually show the winners phone number on screen, (or Bob actually pushing teh buttons so you could work it out) - such happy times)

Someone should look them up and see if they want to sell the delorean, if they still have it. They may have it in a barn...

Neighbor said it was earlier in the week.

I.E., it was bought through a dealer for a show, not donated. If you scroll down, you can read the memo.

So does the Waiters family still have the car? Because that's a cool story!

No clue. It would be nice if someone with a whole bunch of time could research it further. Their experience of picking it up, how long they had it, the VIN, etc.

Anyway, gotta go to work. :( Have a good one

What does the last part of the hand written note say? - "For now, we could provide ....... car for ??????"

Splitting hairs, but the credits at the end say:

"The following suppliers of prizes have furnished them free or at less than retail

....

DeLorean Motor Company"

could very well be via a dealer.

"For now we could provide a car for taping." DMC was definitely into using their dealer network whenever possible.

I was lucky enough to have met the original deal maker himself, Mr. Monty Hall, before he passed.
