Who's with me!??
I briefly went over there last night and saw that they have a like 8 page thread about how horrible we are over here. They call us immature but then proceed to expend huge amounts of energy listing out how much we suck.
But what would you expect from a forum where there is an over 10 page circle jerk political thread

No, no - I fully meant what I said. I do care a little, as I wouldn't want to see someone being belittled/defamed for a completely arbitrary reason. I just don't care enough about this particular situation to find out if the term 'lap dog' is fairly applicable or not, because said term really isn't all that cruel to begin with.

Our table would probably be a conversation that keeps shifting gears to various subjects, while in between we take turns pulling up random, related memes and obscure references on our phones to show to the group for a chuckle. Today's table would be a huddled tinfoil hat meeting where they belittle us or keep biting their fingernails about what we're going to do to them. I perused that thread and site a bit yesterday, and there is a TON of fear mongering going on over there about potential vandalism by Talk members being committed on their cars. Totally unfounded bullshit by them as usual.

Exaggerate much? And no, there is no fear mongering going on "about potential vandalism by Talk members being committed on their cars." A general concern about potential vandalism committed by anyone was validly raised after it was revealed that there were incidents at past shows, primarily concerning the BTTF time machine conversion crowd. Such incidents are fully documented on the DML, and NOT Today, which merely referenced the DML anecdotes.
But hey, why let the objective facts stand in the way of some good out-of-context smear against Today, right?

Apparently, the emphasis in my last post, via use of bold typeface, was lost on you. The part you're imagining is where you claim that such a concern was raised due to Talk members.
Where exactly did Steve claim that such damage was done by a disgruntled Talk member, because that part of his statement eludes me, probably because it doesn't actually exist, except in your mind.
Once again, a GENERAL concern about vandalism being committed by ANYONE, of any affiliation or no affiliation, was validly raised because of incidents that occurred at past shows.

So it turns out that what we have here is a typo. I wrote "talk" when I should have written "Today". My intent was to say that the conversion was being had by "Today" members, but the typo made it appear as though it was as you interpreted it to be. Which is how we got here.
My bad in this case. Of course though any sign of weakness is immediate met with the onslaught of Rabid Chihuahuas, and I fully expect my acknowledgment of a mistake in this case shall be no different. So bring it on and let slip the little dogs of war from over there.
That is of course the big difference between Talk and Today. We have ribbings here and humor, but do of course admit mistakes and try to mend fences whenever possible. DMCToday is just so full anger that you all are just ready to jump on anything. Especially as we saw with the whole unprovoked mocking of Chris Burns. And let me say right now, that was fucked up and uncalled for, but is a perfect example of the caliber of people you have over there. I dunno, maybe it's something that your cult leader there is putting in your Kool-Aid. Opps, I mean Cheer Wine. See, there I go again with those typos…

OK, so even if I accept your typo excuse, you're still saying that my concerns about potential vandalism at DCS are completely unfounded and BS, even though it's fully documented on the DML that certain owners/members (whom I won't name here, as you can read the reports on the DML for yourself) were previously caught red handed removing parts from other attendees cars while at the show. Well, maybe it wouldn't phase you one way or the other if you had parts removed from your car by a fellow owner/member while attending the show, but I most certainly would. If that makes me full of shit in your eyes, so be it, but just so you know, I worked hard for my car and to make it what it is and I don't take lightly to others who would try to steal from me or intentionally/maliciously damage my private property. Call it a values thing, or even pride of ownership, but I would think that most here would be pretty pissed off if they woke up to discover that parts had been removed from their car or some other act of vandalism had occurred to their car by another owner/member as they slept. But seeing as how such act(s) apparently wouldn't phase you one way or the other, then you can put your time, effort, and money into getting your car running, drive it to the show, and allow others to do with it as they please, while facing no resistance from you. But until you actually do this, I for one won't believe it. In fact, such is directly contrary to positions that you've taken in the past, which only leads me to believe that you're talking out of your ass in regards to such a statement.
As to what others said about Mr. Burns on Today - I honestly don't know the totality of the situation and could honestly care less - and yeah, I said that correctly, as I do care a little, but apparently not as much as you. The position was explained and backed up by anecdotal evidence (and if the .com archives were ever restored, then we'd also have empirical evidence). But what does it matter - that's between them.
Honestly, this whole thing is just idiotic IMHO. As for our "cult leader,"

I was never concerned about that - what concerned me are the anecdotes that can be found chronicled on the DML, wherein certain owners/members were caught removing parts from other owners cars without the knowledge or assent of those owners. It appears to be limited to the BTTF time machine conversion crowd, but it's still concerning that such antics would even go on at such a function.

I know what it's like to put love into a vehicle and have people try and shit on you. Doesn't matter what it is, I consider vandalism and theft off-limits. But hey, go on ahead and put words in my mouth.

Yeah, I doubt that. He's the one who threw a tantrum and turned on me when I wanted to take carb conversions out of his hands and give them to everyone without his involvement. Contrary to what you and others may believe, I don't hate carbs. What I hated was your dear leader's fear mongering he used to scare people into becoming indebted to him. I didn't want him "slaving" over making carb manifolds in his garage. I wanted to draft plans with measurements and instructions on how to chop a K-Jet manifold and convert it into using a carb. And I also wanted him to stop it with the "woe is poor me looking for Autolite carbs!" crap and either source an easier alternative or at least allow for a manifold where we could use whatever we pleased.
My goal was to get DeLoreans back on the road without Bill Robertson being involved, plain and simple. Create a conversion how-to document with step by step instructions and give it for free to anyone who wanted it. And all Bill did was toss out straw man arguments, and when that failed he'd try to belittle me each and every step of the way to keep it from happening. And guess what? He won because I gave up. I didn't want you to have a "Robertson Conversion". I wanted you to have a DeLorean Carb Conversion. I wanted a standardized procedure that would be considered acceptable by the entire community. Instead all Bill did was trick you all into an "us versus them" mentality thinking that the rest of us with original fuel injection are somehow "purists" that look down upon you. The truth is: We don't. If you think that carbs are a good idea, superior to K-Jet, or what the hell ever, good for you. But I'll challenge you: Go ahead and try to cut Bill out and see what happens. Come up with a standardized procedure. Shit, you've got the Alpine Club & parts suppliers over in Europe that can get you the manifolds and carbs without his involvement. Go ahead and try to draft up a standard document for a DIY conversion that can be completed anywhere without Bill's involvement and then see how receptive he is to the idea. Let us know the results of how that goes. Create a documented procedure that doesn't bring me into contact with him at all to be a true DIY project, and I'll convert my car to a carburetor.
And no, I don't read Today at all save for the link that was recently posted, and admittedly a quick search to see if you posted about me. And no, you didn't disappoint.

Thanks! As for what you posted above, it makes as much sense as usual. He makes what he makes, although he has done plenty of fiddling with the rare peugeot manifolds rolling around. And at least one owner did go from a bill manifold to a peugeot one, successfully. There's not much there (in terms of existing manifolds) to help more than a couple people. If you were interested in cutting up a stock D manifold, byrne heninger would have been the one to contact. As far as the alpine connection goes, i called the original foundries. The molds are gone and would take big bucks to make new ones. In the end though, nobody but you is stopping your discovery of a better mousetrap, should you ever come up with it. It turns out that there are reasons for what owners have done.

1) Your original quote: "I perused that thread and site a bit yesterday, and there is a TON of fear mongering going on over there about potential vandalism by Talk members being committed on their cars. Totally unfounded bullshit by them as usual." Even if we change 'Talk' to 'Today,' and read it in the context you claim to have intended, you're still saying that my concerns for theft/vandalism at shows is "unfounded bullshit" and the "by them as usual" part apparently means that such concerns are only "unfounded bullshit" when people on Today make them, because I couldn't find where you called similarly expressed concerns on this forum to also be "unfounded bullshit," despite such concerns appearing more frequently on this forum:
http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?9180-Unobtainium-Rare-or-Extinct-DMC-Parts-amp-Components&p=134759&viewfull=1#post134759
http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?9187-Car-show-part-thefts
Funny how when multiple members here express such concerns, it doesn't warrant a response from you. But when I make a similar concern over on Today, you feel it necessary to call it "fear mongering" and "unfounded bullshit" - interesting how that works, isn't it? Not to mention that a few posts on a single thread over on Today appear to warrant the use of the emphasized descriptor "TONS" by you, while multiple posts spanning multiple threads here doesn't even show up on your radar.
And yet, we're the ones apparently drinking the Kool-Aid? Yeah....
2) Bill is not the "cult leader" of Today, but I'm Will Riker.
3) I have no idea what you're talking about, as my car is 100% K-Jet and is about as pure a DeLorean as you're likely to find - I'm still running the stock/OEM belts, NCTs, door struts, Ducey alternator, plastic header bottle, no front end recall, etc. The biggest modifications I made were to eliminate the heat riser (stove) pipe and hot air valve, and install some LEDs in the taillight cluster and door lights - all of which are easily returned to stock/OEM, which I intend on doing before entering my car in the DCS concours.
4) I like Bill, and I don't see how he's preventing you from doing anything that you've mentioned wanting to do above.
As for the great and glorious "cult leader" of Today, fore He has professed that:

Good question Professor - I honestly don't know. According to Wikipedia (the always accurate definitive/ultimate source of modern knowledge), the idiom originated on playground basketball courts in the 1970's / 1980's.

The hanging waistline was a rapper's idea from what I hear, it's supposed to glamorize jail, because in jail the clothes they make you wear don't always fit and are droopy. That older style with one pant leg up was meant to glamorize drug dealers, supposedly drug dealers on the street would pull one pant leg up so buyers (patrons?) could recognize them.
The surfing before signing up question was pointed a ThirdmanJ. (Mr. Hypocrite)
He said I was weird because of it. I think his 'weirdness' is plainly obvious from his posts on both forums, as well as some Pm's I've received from him. What a filthy mouthed little boy. <- Gender still unsure. LOL

Actually.... you are right about jail. The part you left out was that a drooping waist line was to advertise your homo-sexuality and availability to the other inmates. In fact, the "lower" you wore your pants, the "more available" you were for the people in the yard. It's well documented....

I just looked at the Open Discussion areas of both DMCTalk and DMCToday.
The first page of each has 20 threads displayed. Of those (before this post's bump), here's how things break down.
DMCToday:
4 threads created to specifically talk about DMCTalk
3 additional threads where DMCTalk is mentioned (always negatively) on the first page of the thread
DMCTalk:
0 threads created to specifically talk about DMCToday
2 additional threads where DMCToday is mentioned (neither one negatively) on the first page of the thread

It was, but since this thread's incarnation, the mods have made it clear there is to be no more "us vs. them" type of threads. I humbly suggest if you want to talk about any problems with today.com, or politics, or religion, or gun control, you do it where it's tolerated.

Umm... actually this just isn't true/accurate.
There's only 1 thread on the first page of the Open section on DMCToday that was "created to specifically talk about DMCTalk," that being the thread entitled 'They run a tight ship over on that other forum...'.
Where exactly you're getting the other 3 from that you're asserting here, I honestly don't have clue, but it obviously isn't premised in objective reality.
And these "3 additional threads where DMCTalk is mentioned (always negatively) on the first page of the thread," again, I have no idea what you're talking about, as Talk isn't always mentioned negatively where it appears on DMCToday.
Also, it was your bump that re-elevated this thread to front page status here - and for what? To sow the seeds of division and discontent - yeah, that was definitely worth while, wasn't it?
Come on - REALLY?!?!
Let it go already...
Umm... actually this just isn't true/accurate.
1. Talk Lurking Today (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?610-Talk-Lurking-Today)
2. They run a tight ship over on that other forum... (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?498-They-run-a-tight-ship-over-on-that-other-forum)
3. Well it finally happened! (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?602-Well-it-finally-happened!)
4. Banned! (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?593-Banned!)
And these "3 additional threads where DMCTalk is mentioned (always negatively) on the first page of the thread," again, I have no idea what you're talking about,
1. Wouldn't be so bad if his haircut wasn't so jacked up (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?594-Wouldn-t-be-so-bad-if-his-haircut-wasn-t-so-jacked-up&p=9272&viewfull=1#post9272) (and before you say he wasn't talking about Talk, what else would that be in reference to?)
2. Dumbass kid brings gun to school (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?614-Dumbass-kid-brings-gun-to-school&p=9775&viewfull=1#post9775)
3. Anyone buy tickets for the DCS raffle? (http://dmctoday.com/showthread.php?586-Anyone-buy-tickets-for-the-DCS-raffle&p=9113&viewfull=1#post9113)
as Talk isn't always mentioned negatively where it appears on DMCToday.
I didn't say it was always mentioned negatively every time it appears on DMCToday. I said it was mentioned negatively on the 3 occurrences it was mentioned within the 20 most recent threads of Open Discussion.

1. Talk Lurking Today
This thread is merely discussing how Talk members are viewing Today threads as guests, as opposed to registered members - 1) It's not about Talk, but rather Talk members; and 2) what's so negative about that exactly?
2. They run a tight ship over on that other forum...
I admitted to this thread, but if pointing out inconsistent application of the rules by admin/mods is negative, as opposed to a merely technical discussion, then so be it.
3. Well it finally happened!
This thread is not about Talk - it's about Michael's internet browsing tendencies.
4. Banned!
This thread is not about Talk - it's about Google search results on Bill's name in conjunction with the term 'DeLorean.'
1. Wouldn't be so bad if his haircut wasn't so jacked up (and before you say he wasn't talking about Talk, what else would that be in reference to?)
REALLY?!?! Yeah, whatever...
2. Dumbass kid brings gun to school
A light-hearted joke that asserts nothing but objective fact - again, REALLY?!?! Yeah, whatever...
3. Anyone buy tickets for the DCS raffle?
Thirdmanj is a member of both forums. And how exactly is a question pertaining to a mascot negative?
I didn't say it was always mentioned negatively every time it appears on DMCToday. I said it was mentioned negatively on the 3 occurrences it was mentioned within the 20 most recent threads of Open Discussion.
As I've shown above, that just isn't true either.
But hey, if you want to sow the seeds of division and discontent, go right ahead - just get the objective facts straight when attempting to do so.

Jesus, nobody other than you assholes gives a shit about this nonsense.
Pick a forum you like and go there. Don't go to the forum you don't like. This isn't complicated.
