So the time has come; I was away for a good year, but I'm back and I'm ready to pick her up! I left my DMC-12 in the hands of the experts at DMC Midwest, I'm ready to pick her up in a little over 3 days (02 Apr).

I haven't driven her in over 18 months. Since then she's received a Stage II upgrade and a new suspension. I can't tell you how excited I am!

Dave and Julee have been great! They and their staff have been so helpful and so communicative in every step in the process. I'm almost sad to take her back; I'm going to miss talking to them as much as I have! I'm still going to pop by the shop when I'm up that way (it's like going to Disney world for me).

Now, I just need to figure out which way I'm going to get her home. I have three routes planned out. I am leaving from around Chicago O'Hare around 1430 on 03 Apr. I am wanting to stop in a city and go out and sleep over before proceeding to my family's house in Buffalo NY. I've narrowed my routes down to three options. I will be going via Cleveland, Columbus, or London. Each has its merits; I've been out it each of these cities. Waiting to see if I have the weather gage on my side! :reading:

Looking good!! Your right about dmc midwest, I picked my D up there about a year ago and have had fun doing car shows all summer and fall!! If your route has you on US 80/90 going past Elkhart Indiana don't forget to wave (thats where i'm at)----------tom

I will wave if I end up going that way! I've been down 80/90 quite a few times, but this time I'm leaning towards a little bit of a longer route. I'm thinking about going out in Columbus; I almost always go via Cleveland. I'm thinking about switching it up. Here are my three options:

If you do decide to go through parts of Ontario, it can be quicker to come through Detroit (watch out for pot holes!!) and over into Windsor on the Canadian side. You then take the 401 highway East towards London. If you're on 401 East, you can deke over on the 403 East at about Woodstock and then get down to the Burlington and Hamilton area that way by following the 403 as it breaks off from the QEW and heads towards Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Not knowing if you're looking at quick or scenic, but that might be a bit of both.

And I can think of at least 10 Ontario DeLorean owners whose neighborhoods you'll go through on your way!!

We got another fresh batch of snow and ice last night. Not sure if you decided which route to take, but if you're going through Ontario, be aware of the potential for some slippery sections. +1 on pics and updates (when you take breaks) along the way!

Well, I'm in Cincinnati on a delayed layover due to equipment failure. They have to wait until a new plane arvives. I should be landing at Chicago O'Hare at about 1300 central.

I have opted to take the most southernly route via Columbus. It looked like there were some nasty patches on the 80/90, and I'm going up to Toronto on Monday anyway for a concern, so I can quell my cravings for poutine and Tim Horton's coffee at that time!
